Ken Kasik
New to Central Texas, Ken Kasik, hails from the northern reaches of Yankton,
South Dakota. He has traveled down to Texas to make a name for himself in
the music business . Since 1996, Kenny has traveled the Midwest with a band
called The Lugnuts, a collaboration of Kenny, Kenny's brother, Zack, and Carl
Colison. The band toured heavily for 8 years delivering a sound comprised of
Southern Rock laced with a tinge of modern Alternative. In 1996, The Lugnuts
recorded and released their first album titled Rhythm and Booze (2006 -
FLAC). Kenny has some available for sale each and every Monday night for a
very reasonable sticker price of $10.00. Don't forget to say hello to Red,
Kenny's blue heeler and stage manager who is always hanging out during the
shows.

Shawn Perio has blazed a rugged and haphazard trail through the honky
tonks and bars from Baytown to Bastrop. A karaoke singing, bull riding, UT
Longhorn loving, and an aficionado of Red Dirt music, Shawn Perio provides
back up vocals, stage management, and beer runs for our Open Mic Night.
He'll do anything for a free beer and is all about having a good time.

Open Mic at The Waterhole Saloon
Open Mic here is a unique opportunity for creativity, collaboration, exposure, and enjoyment. Whether you are an amateur musician,
bringing a professional band, a Poet, Comic, or Playwright; Whatever channel you are on, Open Mic at The Waterhole is the perfect outlet for
your creativity.
The format is casual and there aren't any restrictions. A solo artist or an eight piece band, acoustic, electric, or brass - bring it on and
bring it in. The equipment provided is minimal, at best, so please come prepared to go without or bring your own. We have enough
electric outlets to accommodate a full band with full riggings but we would prefer if you keep it simple and relaxed - it takes time for set up
and take down of fancy amplifiers and that can be distracting to others. The amount of time spent on the mic is not regulated but please
monitor yourself as a courtesy to others.
Above all else - collaboration and "jamming" together is completely expected and encouraged so don't be surprised if a guitar, harmonica,
or back up vocalist joins with you as you run through your performance. There's nothing like an evening of pickin' and grinnin' , good
songs and friends!
