The Waterhole Saloon is one of the oldest honky tonk bars on Hwy 71. The building began as a BBQ restaurant in the early 1980’s and was run by Fred and Sydney Krause. Fred was retired Air Force and worked for the Salt Lick before opening his own BBQ restaurant. Retiring to Spicewood, Texas the BBQ restaurant turned hands and became a local watering hole.
35 years later, The Waterhole Saloon is a venue that features pool, karaoke, live music on both an indoor and outdoor stage, washers, and over 35 different beers and 8 rotating wine selections.
The Waterhole Saloon features some of the best pool players in Travis and Bastrop County. Our American Pool Association (APA) Pool Teams have competed in regional and State competitions on numerous occasions. 8-ball league is Thursday night and free pool for all levels is on Sunday.
