The Waterhole Saloon is able to host your private party... and we can provide you with the whole enchilada too.
Rent our back room, back yard or the entire bar! Our back room comes with a stage, buffet tables, big screen television, and dart boards
and patio. We can section you off from the main bar to keep your guests comfortable if you desire. Take advantage of three horseshoe pits
in our backyard, assorted patio furniture and picnic tables, a BBQ Pit and outdoor food preparation area. Don't want to deal with the hard
work associated with a great party? Let our event coordinator handle everything for you. We can provide entertainment of any kind:
karaoke, DJ's, live music, Avon or even naughty adult themes. We can provide a full catered menu, decorations for any budget, a personal

You can bring your entire family (guests under 21 must be accompanied by a legal guardian AT ALL TIMES after sunset, but children of all
ages are welcome during daytime events. Parties must be booked at least 3 weeks in advance and will be accepted only if availability
allows on a first come, first served basis.

Crazy, Once-A-Year, or Regularly Random Events
We love to have fun in any and every way possible. Please check out our schedule to see our weekly events but here I'm going to tell you
about the once-a-year or every-so-often things that keep us entertained.

    Gypsy Fest - Similar to Open Mic, Gypsy Fest is a collaboration of musical characters with the backing of a full band. The inspiration,
    host, and court minstrel for this florid affair is Teye, renowned designer of the hand-crafted Electric Gypsy guitar and El Jefe of Teye
    Guitars of Austin, Texas. Teye, a Netherlands native, has played guitar for many decades, trained with the flamenco masters of
    Southern Spain, and even lent the flamenco flavor to Joe Ely, which can be found on Ely's Letter to Laredo album released in 1995.
    Teye brought Gypsy Fest to The Waterhole and even offered us a 'house band' to sweeten the deal. The band is Teye's pet project,
    The Barbarians of Sevilla. The entire evening of Gypsy Fest is vivacious, fun, and powerful. Anyone can come out, pick up one of the
    many guitars laying about, swap places with the drummer on stage, or join in with your own instrument or vocals. Just jam with the
    band, have fun, and play LOUD! This is an evening for Rock and Roll baby! Next one is... when Teye returns from Spain... soon...

    Crawfish Festival (April or May, always depends on those darn mud bugs) -  Our annual Crawfish Festival is an extraordinary event
    that takes place in late April or May, depending upon the size of those tasty critters that come fresh from Louisiana. We order several
    hundred pounds of the delectable Southern treasure and combine them with potatoes, shrimp, and corn in a ragin' pot of boiling
    Cajun spices, garlic, and lemon. We also offer other Cajun fare as well but the menu changes from year to year depending on the
    whims and moods of "The Two Crazy Women," but boudain, jambalaya, gumbo, red beans and rice, and of course bread pudding have
    all made appearances at previous festivals. We always have a good Cajun-influenced group to delight us as well. It has been a
    tradition from the start that Slim Bawb and Gator Bait perform for us, with their "swampgrass" sound it is a perfect fit for a Ragin'
    Cajun afternoon and the dancing is 'oh so fun!' For the kiddos - make sure you get a crawfish painted on their face by our face
    painters and sign them up to compete in the crawfish races. Everyone is a winner after a fun filled day of peelin' and eatin' crawfish
    at The Waterhole Saloon. Look for it April or May.
       
    Hip Hop with SHSM (Hip/HopRap and Free Style) - That's right, SHSM (Southside Hatchet Swangin Mob) of Trioxin Records, bring The
    Waterhole, a sampling of the Hip Hop culture that is flowing through the 'underground' of Cedar Creek, Bastrop, and East Austin.
    Reminiscent of Insane Clown Posse, SHSM delivers a startling narrative of growing up and surviving in the East Austin/Bastrop area
    from a view point that is under-represented in Central Texas. SHSM, the headline act of the evening, is a duo comprised of Joe
    Breezy and Mike D. aka "Hard Jaws". Preceeding them on stage, a continuous flow of rappers, free style, and hardcore artists serve
    up their individual rhythm and rhymes to complete a montage of local talent including MADD tha Gangsta, Kevin Bleu, Pookie Lee,
    Corey B among many others. This event is always planned well in advance so keep an eye open for the nest appearance of SHSM and
    come out to show some support for the talent that is coming from this area.

    Outlaws and Ladies BBQ and Chili Cook-Off - Yes, we love food. We admit it, we cannot deny it and we welcome every opportunity to
    cook and eat as much Texas BBQ as possible. With that in mind, we bring you the Outlaws and Ladies BBQ and Chili Cook Off. The
    main event is a sanctioned cook-off with regulation and governance provided by The Lone Star BBQ Society (LSBS). They provide the
    equal ground for both experienced and amateur cooks to compete  with one another fairly. The categories we compete in are
    Brisket, Pork Spare Ribs, Chicken, Chili (sometimes we are sanctioned for Terligua points but not always - please see individual cook
    off details to confirm sanctioning), Pinto Beans, Margaritas, and Bloody Marys. Our cook-off is always a fund raiser or benefit for a
    local area school, so in addition to the fabulous food that is available ALL DAY LONG, we have an auction (live or silent), a raffle
    drawing, 50/50 Split Pot and sometimes a drive to gather school supplies or materials. What is so fun about a cook-off, is that the
    party begins Friday night, even though the actual competition doesn't begin until Saturday. Camping in the field across Granny Lane
    is available for BBQ Rigs/trailers, RVs, and tents, of course. We have karaoke Friday night and the party often spills over to late night
    conversations alongside the fire and begins anew with a morning of judging bloody marys, margaritas, and wonderful food. Even if
    you have never owned a BBQ pit, the Cook-Off is a great time and is guaranteed to be a fun filled day.  We are always needing judges
    to rate the food entries - so sign up and enjoy yourself at the next one.

    Lance's Wild Hare - Lance is the powerhouse behind The Waterhole and he has these crazy ideas that come to him sporadically and
    seemingly without reason. It has been said that Lance is visited in his dreams by an 8 foot rabbit named Harvey. Harvey instructs
    Lance on what he must do and if he follows all the instructions perfectly: a million dollars will be delivered to his door by Angelina
    Jolie and Pamela Anderson. Well, obviously Harvey the Wild Hare cannot be ignored but the regularity of these events and how
    quickly they are put together depends entirely... on the hare. Previous Wild Hare events have included a Saint Patrick's Day Beer
    Special - where a pint was sold for 25 cents at opening and increased a quarter every hour until it reach it's regular price. Coming up
    in January is the Willie Nelson Biscuit and Gravy Breakfast. Breakfast will cost you $1.50 unless you either dress like Willie (bandanna
    not provided) or sing a Willie Nelson song to Lance when you arrive, if you satisfy one of those requirements, then you eat for free.

    Hawaiian Luau - Every year, a Hawaiian Luau is held at The Waterhole - most times during the summer months but to mix things up, it
    was  held in January one time. There was Ice on the bridges and everyone had frost on their windshields but the coconut bras and
    Bermuda shorts were rockin' the night away. We mix things up every time we have this event. One year we roasted a whole pig in the
    backyard and the next we brought in professional fire dancers. You can watch the videos by clicking here. We always do something
    fun so find the right sized coconuts or un-bury those Bermuda shorts and we'll see you at the next one.
